    Not sure yet...
Daisy can be quite fussy, the first 2 days she wouldn't touch her food at all after adding the oil. Day 3 I reduced the amount and she eventually ate most of her food, but today she won't touch it again. Will keep trying but not sure if its gonna be a waste.

    Good product, horrible bottle
My dog seems to like it on, however he's a greedy thing and isn't phased too much about any thing that is edible and some things not. Coat is improving which is one of the main reasons for getting the oil with the hopes of added benefits too. The bottles, or rather the pumps are terrible. I had the first one replaced by Jolley's to which the second bottle was ok for a couple of days and then the same again. Some of the older reviews from 9 month ago saying this was a problem that still isn't resolved. Its not going to deter me from buying again but I'll be looking for an alternative top to get rid of the pump and just measure it out by eye or with a spoon. Also the recommended measurement on the images on this website differs from the bottle from Jolley's.

    Great product
Got this for my dog as he is getting a bit older now and was showing signs of slight stiffness in his joints I had tried different things but they had made him unwell. I discovered this by chance on Facebook and thought I would give it a try I am now on the second bottle he loves it he licks it of his food first there have been no side affects The real test will be tomorrow when he goes on his next bullie walk with his friends he usually aches for days afterwards. One last note the customer service is awesome my second package was damaged in transit they replaced it straight away I highly recommend

    Great stuff!
So far absolutely brilliant stuff! My dog suffers with her joints and gets very stiff after exercise. I have tried other tablets before but they didn't work at all. I discovered salmon oil and have only used this brand. My dog has been on this for a week and I have noticed a huge improvement! I put 4 squirts on her food in the morning and four squirts on her her food in the evening. She is an XL (giant ) dogue de bordeaux breed so this is absolutely fine. I read on the pack that it should be much more pumps/squirts but then her food would be swamped in oil. So the dose I give her is what is best for her and it works very well. I hope this will continue to work.

I’ve recently changed my dogs diet to raw food and I’ve read that salmon oil is a great addition to the meal. After doing my research, there was a lot of recommendations for this branded salmon oil and I want the best for my dogs.I’ve only been using it for about 4 days now and I can tell the difference already. My older dog was always shedding his hairs and he was quite rough to touch. Now, I can pet him without hair falling off and he’s so soft to touch! 100% recommend to everyone.

Salmon Oil for Dogs

Salmon oil is a marine-based supplement that contains omega-3 fatty. It is a great food topper for both dogs and humans.

It is naturally delivered from salmon and is a great nutritious topper.

There are 4 types of dietary fats:

  • Trans fats
  • Saturated fats
  • Monosaturated fats
  • Polyunsaturated fats

Omegas are polyunsaturated fats that create essential hormones and regulate blood flow and inflammation. But, the drawback to this story is that omegas are not found in the body.

Your pet needs omegas for several reasons. Omega-3s balance the Omega-6 fatty acids that are found in processed foods.

You are probably thinking my pet is not taking processed food. But, many dog food manufacturers use meat from corn-fed animals or refined oil (omega-6).

To avoid overabundance of omega-6 fatty acids, we recommend omega-3 fatty acids.

Our bodies need nutritional balance, and maintaining this balance is very difficult.

Interesting fact: Only 10-20% of humans eat enough marine-based products. That is why omega supplements are very popular nowadays.

Salmon oil consists of the following omegas

  • EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid)
  • DHA (docosahexaenoic acid)
  • ALA (alpha lipoic acid)

And 2 out of the 3 types of omegas are super beneficial for your dog. It is EPA and DHA.

But fresh salmon oil is not just these 3 omegas. Salmon oil has a full spectrum of all 21 omegas.

But that’s not all about omegas! Our salmon oil is made from fresh salmon offcuts during a proprietary production method.

So, every 100 grams contains 30,000 milligrams of healthy fatty acids, which is 7x more than other competitor salmon oils.

Brilliant Salmon Oil Benefits

Every day, our customers report fantastic reviews. There are many benefits of using salmon oil for dogs, and we will mention a few.

Shiny coat and moisturized skin

In our opinion, first impressions really last. When veterinarians see a good-looking coat with moisturized skin, they know the owner puts extra effort into their pet’s care.

Check out what our customers think about the shiny coat benefit:

Our customers report better results only after 2-4 weeks of salmon oil use. However, studies also confirm that better skin and coat are visible after 28 days.

One of our buyers says they have picky eaters at home, but Brilliant motivates them to finish their bowls.

They also report reduced foot licking and shedding. After using this salmon oil, their coats comb out easier and have less dead fur.

Taking enough fatty acids leads to an extra layer of the skin; therefore, itching and dryness can be reduced. Another great benefit is that hair follicles regenerate and lead to a shinier coat, which reduces excessive shedding.

Does your pet suffer from some skin inflammation? Then, don’t worry. Your dog is still a good candidate for Brilliant Salmon Oil.

It is well known that omegas have anti-inflammatory properties, which reduce infections.

Top tip: If the inflammatory process is powerful, consult a veterinarian. Sometimes, you won’t see good results because your dog needs extra therapy besides supplementation.

Improved mobility

Omegas lead to mobility improvements in arthritic patients. And how is this possible?

EPA and DHA will decrease the inflammation in arthritic joints and lameness and provide better joint lubrication and movements.

Even if your dog is entirely healthy, omegas are great for your dog. Highly active dogs also need some supplementation.

Like humans, dogs also age and can face osteoarthritic issues. So, omegas can reduce joint stiffness and lubricate the joints.

Must know: If you have a large dog breed, you must supplement your dog. These dogs grow up in no time, and your dog needs supplementation like omegas, calcium, and phosphorus.

Now that we mentioned shiny coat and improved mobility see how Brilliant helped one of our furry buddies! Check out this video and see how patiently this dog waits for his daily dose of Brilliant!

And this is what the owner says about this product:

“Our pup is 12 now and struggles with arthritis and an itchy coat, our vet recommended this product and it’s made a huge difference. Our boy patiently waits for permission before eating, since we started using this oil his itching has stopped and he’s moving a lot more freely, and clearly in less pain.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this oil, it seems to be the only salmon oil available which IS NOT chemically extracted. This oil is extracted using a water-based process which keeps higher levels of antioxidants than other oils (hence why it’s so orange.) Other salmon oils seem to need chemicals to kill off worms and other nasties. I wanted something 100% natural without anything added, so I know what I’m putting in his body.

My 5 reasons to buy:

  • No chemicals used
  • Nothing added, 100% salmon oil
  • Fresh smell
  • More antioxidants
  • Perfect for kibble or raw-fed dogs”

Allergy Alleviation

Allergies are immune hypersensitivity or hyperreactivity to some substances. This includes allergens, insects, food, plants, etc.

Dogs with allergies usually have red skin, itching, or swelling.

In these cases, salmon oil should be used as a supportive treatment because allergies require long-term management.

Salmon oil reduces the symptoms of itching and dryness because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

Our advice: Consult with a vet and decide whether salmon oil is a good supplementation for your pet.

But let’s check what our customers say about Brilliant Salmon Oil and their dog’s allergies!

Our Amazon customer says this has been an excellent product for their Akita. Their dog takes salmon oil every day, along with a prescribed therapy.

They report that the skin and coat never looked or felt better. They even say bald spots due to irritation and scratching have been repaired.

Other Benefits of Brilliant Salmon Oil

Some of our customers say that the description of this salmon oil is found in the brand's name - BRILLIANT!

They report that their dog became more interested in the food, and the paws became softer.

Other customers report good results only after 10 days. Their fussy eater becomes more interested in food, has more energy and the immune system is boosted.

The Process of Producing Brilliant and Its Properties

The process of producing Brilliant Salmon Oil is what makes it unique.

Let’s mention a few properties that make this supplement unique!

Omega fatty acids

This supplement contains all 21 omega fatty acids with a representative quality of natural levels in whole fish.

Omegas help in the following:

  • Enhancing appetite
  • Soft paws
  • Improving cardiovascular system
  • Increased energy
  • Shiny coat
  • Improved locomotory system

During the process of producing Brilliant, micro/molecular distillation is avoided. It is a procedure that detoxifies the oil and removes the vital fatty acids.

After this unnatural process, the quantity of EPA and DHA are imbalanced.

Our tip: Always read the product's label before buying and see the EPA and DHA amounts.

Chemical Processing

Excessive heat and chemicals can cause a lack of the natural form of EPA and DHA. With Brilliant, you can be sure that there is no chemical processing.

Always find a reputable brand when buying something for your dog.

Interesting Fact: A lawsuit from 2021 found that one fish oil found 0 mg of EPA and DHA due to chemical processes. That’s why you need to pick a brand carefully.

This salmon oil also consists of fresh salmon offcuts, free from toxins and heavy metals.

The whole process of producing Brilliant is very simple, so the outcome is a fresh and natural product.

Taste

Taste and freshness are very important in any product. If your vet approves using this supplement, the next step is approval from your dog.

The whole process lasts about 4 hours. The freshest salmon is caught and then processed from fish to bottle.

This product has a mild and fresh taste. Our customers report that it has the closest taste to real salmon.

Smell

Dogs prefer fresh smells because it is more attractive to them. Food without smell is the reason why we think that our dogs are picky eaters.

Our pets often get bored of some food because it has nothing catchy in it.

So, we advise you to pour Brilliant oil into your dog's bowl. This will give a fresh smell, and your dog will most likely approve of it.

Our salmon oil contains natural levels of astaxanthin, which gives the red pigment or carotenoid. Those manufacturers that use chemical processing for purifying contain 80% less astaxanthin.

Color

Are you wondering why we use transparent bottles?

We want you to see the true color of our product!

This is an accurate indicator of the product’s quality. The brighter the color is, the higher the quality the product is.

Low-quality salmon oil means fewer benefits and a worse smell. Usually, these products smell like rotten fish.

Brilliant has a beautiful salmon-orange color.

Traceability

The journey of our product is from fjord to bottle! The true origins of Brilliant are from a small city on the Western coast of Norway.

The source is from nearby salmon farms with zero waste and a fully circular economy.

How Much Salmon Oil Should I Give My Dog?

We recommend up to 12 pumps per day of Brilliant Salmon oil.

But give your dog some time to adapt. In order to do that, start with smaller doses in the beginning.

You have 2 options from us:

  • 300 pumps bottle (small package)
  • 1000 pumps bottle (large package)

With each pump, you will deploy 1 ml, which is very simple for dosing to many pet parents.

Our usual recommendation to our customers is 1 pump per 3 kg (6.6lb). Or, to simplify, you can use a fish oil dosage calculator.

The best advice from us is to offer your pet salmon oil gradually. If your dog is a picky eater, apply only 1 pump in the beginning.

After that, observe your pet. If your dog shows unusual signs, stop giving salmon oil and consult with your pet.

Salmon oil does not lead to severe side effects. However, too much salmon oil can lead to some side effects.

When Should I Not Give My Dog Salmon Oil?

Avoid salmon oil if your pet has compromised health, like gastrointestinal issues.

We are all aware of the benefits of salmon oil, but you must consult a professional to confirm if this supplement is suitable for your pet.

It is true that salmon oil sometimes helps in managing gastrointestinal diseases, but you must consult with your vet before offering your pet.

Salmon oil has antiobesity effects and reduces insulin sensitivity. Also, it supports the metabolism of aging dogs.

But that’s not all! Omegas can also reduce signs of intestinal inflammation. Our happy customers report a reduced urge to vomit after using Brilliant.

Additionally, salmon oil has anti-inflammatory properties in gastrointestinal issues.

However, we don’t advise adding salmon oil if your dog is in bad health.

Important Info: Avoid salmon oil if your pet has gastrointestinal issues, and consult with a doctor about further treatment and supplementation.

Are There Any Side Effects of Using Salmon Oil for Dogs?

There might be some side effects after using salmon oil, but usually, it is because of improper dosing.

Let’s mention the potential side effects of salmon oil overdosing:

  • Hypervitaminosis D
  • Diarrhea
  • Weight gain
  • Vomiting
  • Smelly breath
  • Itchy skin

We must emphasize that these side effects are very rare. Our general advice is to reduce the dose if you notice some side effects.

But this won’t be successful in 100% of the cases. Sometimes, you need to ask for professional help.

Vomiting and diarrhea are common side effects of almost every new supplement or food if the pet is a picky eater.

But these symptoms are also signs of overdosing.

Smelly breath is not that common and is not always related to salmon oil. Sometimes, our furry buddies steal some yummy food from our kitchens, and that causes smelly breath.

Also, periodontal diseases in aging dogs are common and can lead to smelly breath as the disease progresses.

Unhealthy weight gain is not typical for Brilliant. On the contrary, our customers report healthy weight gain.

Our customer BecaBeca on Amazon said:

“My pup is a little underweight, and this oil is certainly helping to remedy it!”

This indicates healthy weight gain, which many owners desire for their tiny puppies who have difficulties growing up.

Weight gain exists only if those products contain harmful ingredients. You won't notice this side effect since Brilliant has natural components and fresh offcuts.

Itchy skin is noticed only if the dog is allergic to salmon oil. Otherwise, salmon oil is an excellent supplement against allergies and itchiness.
